Dip-A-Drip

Well, this was certainly an interesting challenge.
FreshWorks and 7-Eleven set out to promote National Coffee Day with their CofFREE Day celebration. As part of the campaign, FreshWorks designed a Facebook app that allowed users to vote for and then dunk the most annoying personalities, appropriately named 7-Eleven's Dip-A-Drip. While FreshWorks handled the looks, we made sure everything worked. We rigged a baseball pitching machine so that it could be controlled online, set up cameras, made sure it reacted well with the dunk tank, and developed the Facebook application to work live and as seamlessly as possible.

But we were up to it.

During the first phase of the project, we developed an application that allowed Facebook users to vote for their least favorite of 12 annoying personalities on the site. The voting lasted five days, and in the end, voters picked their top three "drips" to dunk. While that took place, we worked to make sure the pitching machine and dunk tank worked correctly.

On September 26, our team arrived at Union Station in Washington, DC, to test the machines, applications and live video feeds. The big Dip-A-Drip event culminated in a nationwide online dunking game on September 28, and winners received a $25 gift card to use at any 7-Eleven store.
